Miguel Eckstein is the winner of a National Academy of Sciences
Troland Award for 2008. This award is given to young investigators
(age 40 or younger) to recognize unusual achievement and further
empirical research in psychology regarding the relationships of
consciousness and the physical world. Preference is given to experimental
work taking a quantitative or other formal approach, and/or to experimental
research seeking physiological explanations.
Miguel’s award was granted for sophisticated theoretical
analysis and modeling that address fundamental issues in perception
and cognition and their application to the practical problems of
medical imaging.
